This is a copy of the Radipole Funseekers Constitution.  Each project is unique so you will need to adapt the wording to fit your scheme.  The Constitution has been worded as simply as possible and includes all the essential information required, in an acceptable, easily understood layout.

 

 

RADIPOLE  FUNSEEKERS  CONSTITUTION

 

1.                             NAME           

 

1.1                         The name shall be RADIPOLE FUNSEEKERS which was formed on

23 February 2002.

 

2.                             OBJECTIVES

 

2.1                         To provide a free, public, wheeled play facility in Radipole Park, Weymouth,

Dorset, for children, families and individuals.

 

2.2                         To promote and encourage the sports at the wheeled play facility by involving public participation or visual enjoyment from these sports.

 

2.3                         The specific area provided will be known as a ‘Street Course’, which is an area of smooth tarmac with specialist pieces of equipment installed for the use of skates, skateboards, scooters and BMX bikes.

 

2.4                         To foster an on-going community project in partnership with St Aldhelms Church, Weymouth & Portland Borough Council, The Dorset Police, Non-profit Groups, Local Schools/Businesses and Youth Groups.

 

2.5                         To provide this ‘Street Course’ area as a place for social and sporting activities for the users of skates, skateboards, scooters and BMX bikes to pursue their activities in a safe environment and to minimize danger to themselves and members of the public.  To discourage young people from using public roads, pavements and private property for these activities.

 

 

3.                             MANAGEMENT

 

3.1                         The Executive Committee of the RADIPOLE FUNSEEKERS shall comprise

of the following Officers elected on 28 March 2002.

3.2                         The Executive Committee shall invite persons of their choice to join the Support, Social and Fundraising Committee.

 

3.3                         Decisions affecting RADIPOLE FUNSEEKERS shall be taken based on a simple majority of those present and eligible to vote.

 

 

3.4                         RADIPOLE FUNSEEKERS Meetings may need to be held at short notice.

Every effort will be made by the Secretary to give as much notice as possible to Executive Committee Members and Support Officers to hold a meeting at a time convenient to the majority.           

 

3.5                         RADIPOLE FUNSEEKERS Committee Meetings are open to all persons belonging to the RADIPOLE FUNSEEKERS Committee and any such person is free to attend and voice their opinions. Young persons will be welcomed to take part in Committee Meetings and in all discussions relating to the RADIPOLE FUNSEEKERS objectives.   Decisions will be made based on a simple majority of those present and eligible to vote.

 

 

 

4.                             ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

 

4.1                         RADIPOLE FUNSEEKERS will hold an Annual General Meeting in February 2003.

 

4.2                         Notification of the Annual General Meeting shall be given by the Secretary at least twenty-eight days in advance.

 

4.3                         Items for the Agenda must be submitted to the Secretary no later than fourteen days prior to the Annual General Meeting.

 

4.4                         At the Annual General Meeting the following business shall be conducted:

 

(a)               The presentation of the Treasurer’s Statement, duly audited.

(b)               The Chairperson’s Report.

(c)               Summary from the Support, Social and Fundraising Committee.

(d)               Such other business as shall have been communicated to the Secretary in 4.3.

 

 

5.                             FINANCE AND ACCOUNTS

 

5.1                         The financial year shall run from 1 April 2002 to 31 March 2003.

 

5.2                         The Treasurer will be responsible for the preparation of the Annual Accounts of the RADIPOLE FUNSEEKERS, which will be subject to examination by other Committee Members and shall be audited.

 

5.3                         The Accounts shall be available to all Committee Members upon request.

 

5.4                         RADIPOLE FUNSEEKERS is a non-profit Group.  All income received shall be applied solely to the promotion of the objectives of the RADIPOLE FUNSEEKERS.  No Member shall receive any payment from RADIPOLE FUNSEEKERS other than reimbursement of reasonable expenses necessarily incurred in the furtherance of the RADIPOLE FUNSEEKER objectives.

 

 

6.                             LIABILITY

 

6.1                         Neither the RADIPOLE FUNSEEKERS nor any of its Officials shall be liable or responsible for any injury or loss of life suffered by any persons as a result of any activity relating to the use of the ‘Street Course’ in the free, public, wheeled area.

 

6.2                         The provisions of 6.1 shall not be excluded by reason of negligence on the part of any of its Officials.

 

 

7.                             ASSETS

 

In the event of RADIPOLE FUNSEEKERS disbanding, any monetary assets will be donated to a similar local non-profit group who promote and support the activities of skating, skateboarding, scooters and BMX bikes.
